I'm too sexy for my...

So my mom inspired the baby belly photos with her bikini clad memories firmly established in the brains of me and my sisters.  My sister Celena took the beautiful pictures a few weeks ago- which was really great fun.  And I must admit all those season's of wasted time watching (ssssh... america's top model) helped me to take not the absolutely worst photo ever.  Which is usually the outcome when I am trying to capture a nice facial moment, however we were using a digital camera so I won't tell you the ratio of good to bad.

Aside from the photos, I feel so blessed that this has been a beautiful journey.  There were a few hiccups..as Barry likes to say... in the beginning.  But those dismal moments led me to the midwife who has been guiding us through this adventure.  Korvin was a complete hospital birth with all the bells and whistles of inducement, epidural, and pain meds.  This time I knew that it needed to be different.  At first I was entertaining the thought of a complete natural experience and the more I talked to friends and then upon finding Kerry it become an event of homebirth.  We are so excited for the experience!!  Barry at first was quite hesitant but the more we become informed the better he feels and now goes on to say that he couldn't imagine doing it any other way.  I agree.  I am not naive in thinking that problems may not arise but I also don't get into my car everytime thinking about the accident I should be prepared to have.   Not to mention having the freedom of a homebirth will allow us to play the music we like loud, build fires and maybe even set off some fireworks.  I did say maybe...

The fantastic part is getting to recount the experience after this new amazing person arrives.  Until then I am enjoying myself no matter what I may say now or in a couple weeks or when I wake up in writhing pain from cramps in my calves.  I am still fortunate that I have time to continue to think about all the things that I really need to do and maybe even get around to doing some of them.  I am lucky for all of the wonderful people in my life who are the reason I am this person going through these experiences and I look foward to continuing to share them with everyone.
